Background of Me

I figure I should probably lead off with a background of me. You know, kind of set the tone for the blog, let the reader understand where this train might go.

I don’t think I’ll get too specific about who I am. At least for now. Maybe one day I’ll be more specific? Regardless… I’m a guy in my mid-twenties. I think I’m pretty average. Grew up in an average town, with an average family, at an average high school, went to an average college, came out with an average job, and now live in an average city. There are a few things that set me way out of the line of average, but that’s for another blog post.

To try and expand on my first post I have some goals for the blog:

  1. Be more accountable/disciplined
  2. Be more introspective
  3. Post a short blog daily
  4. Post a longer topic specific blog weekly on how I think I’m a “Disciplined Millennial”
  5. TBD

As far as being accountable, I’m just going to talk about what I want to do and some goals and stuff. I figure if I tell it to someone (fingers crossed someone out there reads this) it’ll push me to actually do it.

Introspective? I don’t know, do some deep thinking about things.

Short blogs will be a quick paragraph about anything that day. Work, weather, a good beer…

Longer blogs will be focused on Discipline. Something I think I’m fairly good at, and something that I believe can benefit some other people. When I say “discipline”, I mean over arching discipline whether it be at work, a diet, a workout routine, financial, relationships, etc… I think its really important and extremely beneficial.

TBD – Boom. My goal for the blog checks the box for one of my personal goals. A goal of always setting and achieving goals.

“Did you say Personal Goals?” Yes, yes I did. Super important. If you don’t have goals its hard to have direction and even harder to track progress. So here’s a list of my personal goals:

  1. Exercise More
  2. Eat Healthier
  3. Work Harder at Work
  4. Find More Time for Myself
  5. Save Money for Personal Use
  6. Save Money for Retirement
  7. Be a Good Boyfriend
  8. Improve My Golf Game
  9. Do More This Summer
  10. Set Goals
  11. Be Disciplined

11 Goals – Just Like That. I’ll keep the list of goals updated with different blog I post that are related to them, and I’m sure there will be some that don’t relate to any of them. But it’s my blog, so I can do what I want..

If anyone reads this – thank you.

I wish you the best, and hope you can set up some goals and progress towards them.
